You surely know the Indonesian singer, Mawar, or commonly known as Mawar AFI, right?

We want to share a bit of Mawar's experience when she recently underwent rhinoplasty and face contouring at Banobagi Clinic together with the MyVenus team.

Mawar found out about MyVenus from the testimonials of several influencers who had surgery with MyVenus and she became interested in having surgery in South Korea!

Previously in 2004, Mawar had already undergone rhinoplasty due to a narrowing of the nasal cavity, and according to Mawar herself, the results were not very proportional and slightly crooked. So in 2022, Mawar decided to undergo tip plasty surgery to improve the shape of her nose. In addition, Mawar also had complaints about her asymmetrical jaw, to the point that she said it was difficult for her to chew on the right side!

Mawar's hope for the results of this surgery was that it wouldn't look too different and her nose would become smaller. If there was a nose model that Mawar liked, she liked the nose of actress Katty Butterfly. Besides the shape of her nose, Mawar also hoped her jaw would become more symmetrical!

According to Mawar herself, there are two things that must be prepared for plastic surgery, which are mental and physical readiness so that the recovery is also much faster!

Day-2 Before Surgery

Two days before the surgery, Mawar had a medical check-up and consultation with Dr. Oh Chang Hyun for the face contour surgery and Dr. Yoo Ki Hyun for the revision rhinoplasty.

From the consultation with Dr. Oh, Mawar really liked the way he handled things. Even though it was only for facial surgery, all body proportions were considered for balance. In the rhinoplasty consultation, because Mawar previously had an implant that had been there for about 10 years and it was a thick, old-model implant, that implant will be removed and replaced with a thinner implant for the bridge of the nose, supplemented with Mawar's own rib cartilage to raise the tip of the nose.

During the consultation, the doctor explained and gave an illustration of a nose model that is suitable and proportional for Mawar herself. Throughout this consultation process, Mawar herself really liked it and was excited to see the results!

D-Day of Surgery

Finally, the long-awaited day arrived!

On the day of the surgery, Mawar was already prepared, not wearing any make-up or jewelry.

Before the surgery, Mawar consulted one last time with the doctor. Mawar's face was also designed or marked by the doctor! For the surgical procedure itself, it will first start with the face contour and then continue with her revision rhinoplasty.

The surgical procedure took approximately 7 hours. It was quite long because this surgery was a revision surgery, plus the procedure to harvest the rib cartilage. After the surgery, the doctor also came to visit Mawar and explained that the swelling would increase for about another 2-3 days, and advised her to diligently use ice packs. Mawar's condition was also quite weak; besides that, she also felt dizzy and nauseous. This is still a normal condition! The effects of anesthesia can make us feel nauseous and dizzy.

Post-Surgery

Day 3 Post-Surgery

On the 3rd and 4th days post-surgery, Mawar's face was in its most swollen phase, but fortunately, her jaw bandage could already be removed! The doctor had also informed Mawar that the third and fourth days are indeed the phase where the swelling will be very large. So, Mawar was still using ice packs to ease the swelling. Besides using ice packs, Mawar also liked walking inside and around the guest house to help reduce the swelling too! Mawar's condition on this 3rd day had also improved significantly and she was no longer weak. The doctor also advised her to walk a lot so that the swelling would go down quickly!

Day 7 Post-Surgery

On the 7th day, Mawar was already allowed to have her nose stitches removed! However, the stitches inside the nose could not be removed yet. Dr. Yoo also came to check on her nose condition once again. According to the doctor, everything was going smoothly and the tip of Mawar's nose had gone down, leaving only the remaining swelling. For the first week post-surgery, the doctor indeed recommended eating liquid food because we are not allowed to use the mouth muscles to chew and also for the sake of oral hygiene. However, on the 4th day, Mawar tried to eat solid food, such as porridge, so that her acid reflux wouldn't flare up. According to Mawar herself, actually, if you want to eat solid food, it is allowed, but you must be careful and be sure that you can maintain your own oral hygiene!

Day 10 Post-Surgery

On the 10th day, Mawar was able to have all the stitches inside her nose removed, and for the stitches inside the mouth, they could be removed on the 14th day. Mawar herself was surprised because her face remained smooth and free of bruises, thanks to the magic hands of Dr. Oh and Dr. Yoo! But of course, this is different for every patient! Because each individual's condition is different, bruising and swelling are normal and can appear after surgery! So even if there is purplish/yellowish bruising, there is no need to worry!

In addition to the stitch removal processes, to help reduce swelling, Mawar also underwent Oxygen Therapy and Smart Lux treatments!
