Why did Della want to have plastic surgery?

According to Della personally, she wanted her face to look slimmer and smaller, which made her very interested in the face contouring procedure. Before we share the story of Della's surgical journey in Korea, let's first tell you the results she hoped to achieve. Before Surgery

Finally, Della arrived in Korea!

On day 2 before the surgery, Della came to Banobagi Clinic to consult about the procedures that would be performed to achieve her desired results. Della herself didn't have a specific picture of how she wanted to look or whom she wanted to look like; the most important thing was for it to suit her and be proportional!

Of course, before consulting with the doctor, Della also underwent a medical check-up, pre-operative photos, and an X-Ray!

At Banobagi Clinic, Della discussed her concerns regarding her face contouring process with Dr. Oh Changhyun. During the consultation, besides Della expressing her wishes, Dr. Oh shared many opinions regarding the shape of her face. Dr. Oh mentioned that her chin would be made more defined and she would have a more pronounced V-line shape. Dr. Oh also advised Della to go on a diet to support and maximize her post-surgery results!

During this consultation, Dr. Oh also informed her that Della had a slight asymmetry in her face, and that this is completely normal! Most people do not have a 100% symmetrical face!

For the double-eyelid surgery, Della discussed her concerns with Dr. Lee Yoojung. While consulting, Della was given a mirror to see the shape of the eyes that the doctor would create.

Surgery D-Day

The long-awaited surgery day finally arrived!

Della arrived having made all the necessary preparations for that day's surgery. She came without makeup or skincare, and had also fasted for 8 hours. Honestly speaking, Della was just a little nervous and afraid of the injections.

Before the surgery, Della had one more consultation with the doctor. Upon meeting Dr. Lee, the first thing they did was design Della's eyes for the upcoming surgery to determine the desired size and shape of the eyelids.

Just a few minutes before entering the operating room, Della started feeling extremely nervous, to the point where her hands got cold! How did Della's surgery go?

1 Hour Post-Surgery

Wow, it turns out that just one hour after the surgery was completed, Della was already making content!

Earlier, Dr. Oh had also visited Della and reminded her to use ice packs so that the swelling would go down quickly. Although she was still a bit weak from the anesthesia, Della was already practicing walking around the hospital to help reduce the swelling!

After the surgery, Della was not allowed to eat yet and could only open her mouth slightly. So she only drank water, and even that was taken in small sips. Having difficulty opening your mouth wide after face contouring surgery is very common, so this is completely normal!

Post-Surgery

On day 1 post-surgery, Della still had bandages on her jaw. Although she was still a bit weak and sore, she started walking around a bit near her guest house to help reduce the swelling in her face. She was even able to dance and run around here and there! Personally, Della had no complaints of pain, she just felt that her face was swollen and full.

On day 3 post-surgery, Della was able to remove the bandages from her jaw. The doctor had warned her that the 3rd and 4th days would be when the swelling would be at its worst. So, to help ease the swelling, she had to walk around frequently and use ice packs!

On day 7 post-surgery, Della was already able to eat porridge! On this day, she was also allowed to wash her hair and take a shower by herself. Even so, when brushing her teeth, she still had to use a small toothbrush and no toothpaste to protect the stitches inside her mouth. On this day, Della still felt that her face was swollen and stiff. Her cheeks no longer hurt when touched, but her jaw still felt slightly sore when touched. There was also a slight yellowish bruising under her eyes, but all of this is normal after face contouring surgery. Everyone has different after-effects after surgery, so this is very normal!

On day 8, Della had a post-surgery consultation with her doctor and got the external stitches on her face removed. On this day, Della could already eat noodles even if she couldn't chew them, so they had to be very soft noodles!

On day 10 post-surgery, Della was able to eat a full portion and not just liquid food, but solid food! As for her face, her double chin area was still swollen and felt hard, but her cheek area felt comfortable. According to Della, her inner mouth stitches seemed to have healed because they felt itchy.

On this 10th day, Della returned to Banobagi Clinic to receive post-surgery treatments customized to her post-operative condition. The treatments she underwent included Oxygen Therapy, light therapy, and IV therapy. According to Della, the light therapy was the most comfortable because it felt warm like the morning sun! Her condition on day 10 was also much better; her face was more flexible, and she could open her mouth wider.

Day 14 Post-Surgery

On day 14 post-surgery, Della finally had all the remaining stitches on her face removed, including those inside her mouth! Dr. Lee also visited her again for a final consultation and informed her that the swelling in her eyes would soon disappear and look even better. In addition to Dr. Lee, Della also had her final consultation with Dr. Oh. Dr. Oh also shared some important information!

• In 1 month, the swelling will decrease by 60%

• In 3 months, the swelling will decrease by 85%

• In 6 months, the swelling will decrease by 95%

From Della's story, she felt that the worst swelling occurred during the first 5 days because it kept getting bigger, and her mouth felt so full from the swelling that it was difficult to open. For Della, during the first to third months, it was slightly difficult to eat, but after that, she could eat normally again.

Della also shared some tips to get rid of swelling after surgery!

For the first 7 days, Della applied cold compresses to her face and followed up with warm compresses. Additionally, she routinely wore the facial compression garment provided by Banobagi Clinic. Lastly and most importantly, Della actively walked while in Korea, which helped her swelling subside quickly!
